finished

Last night I finished the second of the purple socks I began knitting earlier in the month.
This one got done a lot quicker than the first.
Day off well spent.
I haven't knitted socks for over a year now, so I didn't really bother with a tension square, or a complex pattern.

They'll definitely get a lot of wear though, if a touch on the slouchy side.

I got the pattern for free from this blog or you can find it on Ravelry.

unstashed

I knitted this cardi a few years ago now.  I haven't worn it much; mainly because I've been a bit too precious over it (a lot of time went into making this) and partly because I really didn't like the original buttons I'd sewn on it.  Time for a change.  Small details can really alter the appearance of things.
I'd forgotten how many pretty little treasures I had stashed away in my button collection.
Bags and tins and boxes in boxes of them

These multi coloured buttons are the perfect match for the textured forest green cardigan.  I got these from MacCulloch & Wallis (off Oxford Street) back when I used to work there.
I'd completely forgotten I had them.
Now it'll definitely get worn.  I love it like it was new

toasty

Finally gave in and bought myself a pair of Lowie Turkish socks.  I've been craving them for the last few winters.  It was a good decision.  They're made from recycled yarn (100% acrylic = vegan + washable) and so they all come out a little differently.  As luck would have it, I love the colour combination on mine.

I love the blue / yellow striped heel on them too.
Going to keep my super cosy in Latvia next week.

Today also witnesses the completion of sock #1 of the pair I started knitting a few weeks ago.  There was way more yarn than I expected, so they've come up a lot longer than I had imagined.  Toe-up all the way.

Thomasocalypse

A little mini project I have been working on, as a present for my big brother, Thomas

 The finished pieces:

Lots of tea staining pages & burning the edges, good fun
Text this morning "Awesome present!"
Totally worth the work

A few pieces that got dropped from the gift

Cowl

Super cosy

I decided it was time to get my needles together for some extra warmth for my Latvia trip.

I have tons of the rusty coloured chunky wool I bought from a charity shop last year.
It's knitted on circular needles too so once you've finished knitting, it's basically ready to wear straight away.
You can get the pattern for free from Ravelry here

finally

I have started knitting again.  I haven't really done any this year...
So some basic toe up socks to ease myself back into it.
I really have too much yarn stashed away, I forgot how much there was until I made myself open my cupboard last week.
This was started on Tuesday, so hopefully they'll be ready to keep my toes warm in Latvia...

Thankyou Helena.  I really need to buy some more.  My wall feels empty.

Camden 8 Dec

Two gigs, one night.

Truckfighters @ The Underworld

Dead Coast @ The Enterprise

Check these guys out and if you get the chance, go see them, they sounded ace.

Just right to follow up from the stoner jumping sounds of Truckfighters.

This is why I love London.

regression

Today was proof of all I have been fearing this year... I have truly entered into regression.
Scraped kness, plasters, new colouring pencils, colouring book, colouring in.
Washed down with a helping of hot chocolate and Pond:

so excited

New found respect for H&M as I recently found out a lot more about how the company operates - very anti sweat shops.
Even more so when I found out they are collaborating with Brick Lane Bikes

Neurosis/Godflesh 02.12.12

Was a bit gutted when I got round to buying my Neurosis ticket and all you could buy were seating ones.
Actually, it was amazing.
I went mainly for Neurosis, but Godflesh totally stole the show...
The visuals in the background were perfect with the noise, so awesome.
Unfortunately I couldn't drag myself out of my transfiction to take any photos, but have some low quality Neurosis shots instead.
